Domain Road vineyards are owned by the Crosbie family who have enjoyed holidaying in the area for many years and have family connections with Bannockburn over several generations.

The family first purchased land in the 1980’s, eventually purchasing the land on which Domain Road was developed. Graeme’s passion for wine and classic vehicles have come together at the vineyards where vehicles and machinery up to 60 years old still have work to do bringing in grapes and delivering them to the winery.

Viticulture is managed by Fiona Johnman and a small team assembled to meet the high standards required for Domain Road wines. The focus in the vineyard is on a hands on approach so that every vine receives the attention it requires.

Winemaker Peter Bartle carries on this same approach in the winery. Peter is one of Central Otago’s most respected winemakers with almost two decades experience in New Zealand and overseas. His passionate approach to winemaking where guidance is more important than influence creates wines with poise, balance and texture.

The same hot summers and long autumns that the family enjoy have proven ideal for producing premium wines, Domain Road carries on this tradition with its Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Rosé, Pinot Gris and Riesling wines. From 2016 the varietal range will also include Chardonnay from the Defiance vineyard site.
