We are a small family owned and organically certified winery in the heart of Coonawarra. In 1906 my great grandfather, named the family property ‘Koonara’. More than 115 years on, our family still live here surrounded by our vineyards.

We are the first in Coonawarra to be Certified Organic, and we have created ecosystems in our vineyards to limit spraying (even organic sprays) and to reduce our carbon footprint.

We believe in creating wines which are high quality and age-worthy. All our wines are vegan friendly, low in sulphur and have no (or low) residual sugar.

Mount Benson is renowned for its moderate maritime climate. The Southern Ocean has a dramatic influence on our family vineyard and allows us to make elegant, true cool climate wines. Our vineyard experiences cold, wet winters followed by long growing seasons and year-round southerly winds whistling in from the coast that keep our vines healthy and happy.

All of our fruit comes off our own estate vineyard that surrounds the winery, and with careful winemaking and attention to detail, our winemaking team’s focus is on producing elegant and varietal wines that are affordable, approachable and rewarding glass after glass.

Lange Estate
Frankland River

The Lange family have been cultivating and farming in rural Western Australia for five generations. The tradition continues in Frankland River with the Lange’s vineyard, established in 1997 and run by the family, including Kim and Chelsea, their children Jack, Ella and Dylan together with Don and Maxine.

The vineyard is situated in the picturesque grape growing region of Frankland River known for producing premium quality fruit – especially Shiraz and Riesling. The vineyard has a high elevation of close to 300m which is unique for Western Australian conditions and when combined with the red jarrah gravel loam soils it leads to wines of great intensity.
