Armstrong Wines

Armstrong Wines is the brain – or love – child of Tony Royal, former Seppelt (Great Western) winemaker, former CEO of Seguin Moreau Australia, and former CEO and joint owner of Portavin Integrated Wine Services.

Armstrong Vineyards (Great Western) was planted by Stan and Tony Royal, with the first 2ha of shiraz planted in 1989, and a further 4.7ha of shiraz planted in ‘95-96. Low yields (5 – 6 tonnes per ha) mean the wines have and will continue to be produced in limited quantities.

In the years since, this child has discovered siblings in the La Lutte & Royal Scribe brands, which offer a range of premium wines from several of Australia’s best wine regions.

Moss Brothers

Moss Brothers
Margaret River, Western Australia

The Moss Brothers name has been synonymous with high quality Margaret River wines for more than 35 years. Originally established by viticulturist Jeff Moss at Wilyabrup in 1984, the focus was on the classic varieties of the area – Sauvignon Blanc blends, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Roll forward and Moss Brothers has become a familiar face in the Margaret River wine region. Our tight knit crew are now a band of ‘brothers and sisters’, united and focused on their passion for their region and the wines they craft.

We’ve watched the area evolve over time to become a home for people who enjoy the unique coastline, an evening surf, and a killer glass of wine. We couldn’t be happier to be a part of it all and aim to capture the area’s lively spirit in every drop of wine we produce.

Rory Parks is the head winemaker here at Moss Brothers, and after 20 years amongst the soil, the vines, and the barrels, he comes with a wealth of hands-on experience and a great passion for the art of winemaking. His role spans across all areas of viticulture and winemaking. Rory has spent his entire career working in Margaret River. Having lived and breathed Margaret River wine, he has a deep understanding of how to craft powerful and elegant wines that speak to the terroir of the area.

Macaw Creek Wines

Macaw Creek Wines
South Australia

Established in 1992 by Rod Hooper, the boutique winery is located in the Mount Lofty Ranges Region in the heart of the Gilbert Valley in South Australia.

The Gilbert Valley is situated between the Clare and Barossa Valleys and has a history of wine production and grape growing dating back to the early 1880’s.

The region has winter dominant rainfall and with hot dry summers. The winter rains moisten the predominantly Terra Rossa and Bay of Biscay soils, enabling optimum shoot growth in spring.

Limestone in the soil helps retain the 520mm of annual rainfall and the dry growing conditions through spring and summer create a disease free growing environment thus allowing organic viticultural methods.

The regions warm dry autumns with cool evenings are ideal for slow fruit ripening and maximum flavour development. Our grapes are often dry grown with minimal irrigation from low yielding vines in an organic environment free from systemic fungicides and pesticides.

The Macaw Creek Wines cellar door and winery has been built in beautifully restored stables that were originally constructed in the 1880’s on land that has been in the Hooper family for five generations.
