Loonie Wine Company is a collaboration between long-time wine industry veterans; vigneron Norm Doole and winemaker Mike Farmilo. Grapes are sourced from long-term growers and friends in McLaren Vale, the Barossa Valley, the Southern Fleurieu and from estate grown vineyards around Norm’s house in the Adelaide Hills. With access to exceptional fruit, the two brands create a portfolio of distinctive, varietal, contemporary wines.

All of the wines are beautifully balanced, light in alcohol and oak, and flavoursome, bright, smooth and fresh. The Monterra wines are more traditional in style and the brightly packaged Colab and Bloom wines are exciting and vibrant, reflecting modern viticulture and winemaking practices. Mike Farmilo is one of Australia’s most renowned and revered winemakers with over 40 years experience in both corporate and boutique winemaking.

Humble and unassuming, Mike has been responsible for some of the finest wines ever made in South Australia. Although we’re a young wine business, we have a lot of experience producing award winning wines with accolades arriving regularly from Australian, American, Canadian and Chinese critics and consumers alike. Mike’s stamp on our wines is obvious. They are fresh and vibrant with distinct varietal and regional characters offering wonderful value, but above all, exceptional quality. Our aim is to make wines we like to drink… we’re sure you’ll like them too.
