Burton
South Australia

Burton Premium Wines has the benefit of sourcing grapes from a number of premium wine growing regions in South Australia — including the gently rolling hills of McLaren Vale and the famed “terra rosa” soil of the Coonawarra. This places them in the perfect position to capitalize on the natural attributes and strengths of each region and the classic varietal characteristics that produce superior wines.

Their vision is to produce the finest wines from areas where the grape and region are synonymous such as the Cabernet from the Coonawarra and Shiraz from McLaren Vale.

Strict tests are conducted in the vineyards to select mature vines and the fruit is always picked when the baume and flavour are in perfect harmony. Under the direction of International wine judge, Ray Healey, expert winemakers Pat Tocaciu and Mike Farmilo have made wines that have won an International Trophy, Gold medals, and exceptionally high scores.

The natural bottle maturation process softens tannins and acid, allows for the complete integration of fruit and oak and adds an additional layer of complexity. Careful ageing is their point of difference. These long living wines were re-rated in 2012, where the entire range of Burton wines all scored between 90 and 98 points.
